
Sri Ashes Kumar Mukherjee is an Electrical Engineer who graduated in 1981. He is having 39 years of experience in working in various areas of power plant.
He has got 7 years of experience in operating and commissioning of 200/500MW units in Korba STPP of NTPC. He has worked Electrical Maintenance for 16 years looking after maintenance of Generator, Transformer, Motors, Switch Yard.
He has also worked in Corporate OS for 10 years ensuring adoption of good O&M practices by powerplants, health monitoring of various electrical equipment and system RCA of problem faced and giving solutions to all power plant of NTPC.
For 5 years he has worked in the capacity of GM(Maintenance), GM(O&M) and Head of Project in Rihand STPP
In his tenure in NTPC he has implemented NFT of generator, developed procedure for Renovation and Modernisation of Generator- papers on which was presented in IRIS rotating machine conference, USA and CBIP. He was also reviewing papers for CIGRE, conference. Apart from above lot of new maintenance technique was developed by him which are in practice in various plants.
Shri Uttam Kumar Dasgupta graduated from M.N Regional Engineering College (MNNIT), Allahabad in Electrical Engineering in the year 1978, I have 38 years of experience in Thermal Power Plant Operation & Maintenance, starting from N.L.C Ltd (3 yrs) & N.T.P.C Ltd (35 years).
Initially, as an Operation professional with over 15 years of experience, He developed skill of efficient power plant operation & commissioning. He became the Plant Head of Operation and qualified as Energy Manager from B.E.E.
Later, as a Maintenance professional with over 15 years of experience, He became proficient in maintenance of Electrical system including a Solar power Plant. He was the Plant Head of Maintenance along with Environment management.
He held the key responsibility of Head of Operation & Maintenance of a Super Thermal Power Station. He took the charge of Head of Station as and when required by top management.
After retirement in June 2017, he qualified to become a Member, Expert panel of Safety Auditors in National Safety Council, Mumbai.
Shri Kishore Kumar Gupta did his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from BIT Mesra and worked in SAIL, BOKARO for 4 years in Electrical Testing group and thereafter in NTPC Ltd. for 31 years at various levels and retired as Addl. General Manager (Inspection) at Eastern Region-1 Head Quarters of NTPC. During his long stint in SAIL & NTPC, he worked in Project Execution involving Erection, Testing and Commissioning of various Electrical packages in Singrauli Super Thermal Power Projects of NTPC. He has also worked in the areas of Environment and Ash Utilisation , Rural Electrification , Pakri Barwahdih Mines and Quality & Inspection deptt . Post retirement from NTPC, he was engaged as Adjunct faculty in one Engineering College. Further he has delivered lectures to the employees of almost all Power Plant under WPDCL.
Shri Achintya Kumar Roy, BS Power Engineering, BITS Pilan, worked in TISCO, PPL and NTPC in a career spanning 37 yrs and have vast experience in maintenance electrical equipment in areas including mining machineries Motors, HT/LT Switch gears, DC Systems, Switch Yard equipment, HT/LT Transformers, Protection System etc.
Shri J Papesh, B S Power Engg., retired as DGM(C&I), in NTPC and have 35 years of experience in C&I Installation/Erection, Commissioning and Maintenance. He is Experienced in DCS, PLC, SCADA, SWAS, FGD, AAQMS and OLCS/CLCS, from 200MW to 800MW. Commissioning is his area of interest.
Shri Ashish Kumar Khanra, Chartered Engineer in Electrical Engineering from ‘The Institution of Engineers (India)’, Kolkata, has obtained M.Tech in Energy Engineering from ‘Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT)’, Bhopal; MBA in Marketing Management from ‘Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)’, New Delhi and Certified Energy Auditor by ‘Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)’, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
He worked as Engineering Officer Gr. IV in Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bhopal, and is having experience of 38 years in the different fields of testing viz. Short Circuit Testing & Evaluation of low voltage switchgear & control gear equipment, and distribution transformers up to 1000 kVA at 100 MVA ON LINE TESTING STATION, Temperature rise testing of Dist. & Power Transformers up to 20 MVA rating, H.T. Switchgear up to 25000A, routine & type test of CT, PT up to 400 kV class and so on as per National (IS), International (IEEE, IEC, BS, UL, CSA, etc) standards.
He also worked as Third-Party Inspector of CPRI in the areas of LT/HT Switchgear and Power Transformers up to 500 MVA rating at various Manufacturers’ works in India and abroad.
He also published many technical & management papers in National and International Conferences and Journals.

Shri N Murugesan holds M.Sc ( Engineering) – Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University, an MBA from XIME, Bangalore and a Post Diploma in Computer Engineering (PDCE). He has about 38 years of experience in the area of Smart Grid, AMI , substation Automation, Distribution Automation, SCADA, Power Systems , Transmission & Distribution system, Communication Protocol for Power system, Standardisation ,Switchgear testing & Certification ( Low & High voltage equipment) as per National & International standards . From March 2010 to March 2015 he worked as Director General , Central Power Research Institute, Ministry of Power, Government of India managing about 35 laboratories dedicated for Power Engineering located in 7 locations( Bangalore, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Noida, Kolkata, Guwahati) in India with about 600 staff. He supervised about 200 Research Projects & Consulting work. Expanded Research and Testing & Certification facilities for Electrical equipment as per national and International standards across India to meet growing demands of Power Industries. He established various Smart Grid laboratories in CPRI like IEC 62056, IEC 61850, 60870 series etc. and laid foundation for Smart Grid work to take a shape in India.
